Shoes for African Students

Breaking News:

Our shoes are in Tanzania and on the feet of some really wonderful kids!!!  I sometimes cannot believe all it takes to make this minor miracle happen. Students in the US make a decision to commit time and energy to promote and collect shoes from friends, family, neighbors and the community. They get so excited about giving shoes designated for a landfill an opportunity to find a new home on another student’s feet.
About 700 pairs of very usable shoes are being worn by a new owner, protecting a new set of feet against all the cuts and disease that plague the back county of Africa.
“Soles for Africa,” with its all-volunteer force, is dedicated to this mission.  Thanks to their efforts sorting, packing, and shipping, we now can enjoy photos that bring meaning to the cause of one person helping another - for no other reason than they can.
Thank you to those who gave time, or shoes, or money....we are a great team.
My congratulations and admiration to all of you.

It's simple really. Giving a child the gift of shoes.
We collect used, not abused, children's shoes and provide them free of charge to African children in need.

In many parts of Africa, children walk barefoot many miles to and from school every day. We want to make their daily journeys easier and help keep them safe from injury.

So it's up to all of us. Simply collect children's shoes that no longer fit or are out of fashion, but still have lots of life, and get them to our collection site at 535 Spring Road in Elmhurst...we 'll do all the rest.

Making a difference in the life of a child has never been simpler.
